Update from the Dorset team

We are so pleased to have Ellen Blackwood joining our team over the Christmas period. Ellen is a graduate of Durham University and is Level 2 qualified in Basketball as well as being an experienced sailor. She has taught abroad in Zambia and the USA and will be based at Chardstock and Mrs Ethleston’s in Lyme Regis. It is great to have her working for us.

Shillingstone Primary School-KS2 are working on their Uni-hockey skills, which include passing, dribbling, tackling and shooting. They will all be taking part in a round robin hockey competition at the end of term. We are also in the process of organising a cross country competition within the school which will take place during their Sports week in the summer term.

Trent Young’s Primary school - We are pleased to announce that we started a KS2 gymnastics club that runs on Friday afternoons, to run alongside the KS1 Gymnastics club on Thursday afternoons. All children are working on their BAGA gymnastics proficiency awards, and 4 children from the KS2 gymnastics club have been selected to act as coaches for the KS1 club.

Y3/4 Sherborne pyramid football tournament - Tuesday 27th February

This will take place at Sherborne Abbey Primary school and will consist of 10 teams from 8 schools in the Sherborne pyramid. These schools are Sherborne Abbey x 2, Sherborne County Primary x 2 Trent Young’s, Buckland Newton, St Andrews Yetminster, All Saints Bishops Caundle, Thornford and St Mary’s Bradford Abbas.
